Special Presentation: Managing your files, Backups, Cataloguing plus basic image editing

Last night we presented our third special presentation of “Essential Skills” for this year. This time we looked at best practice for downloading, organising, cataloguing, backing up and some basic processing procedures. The important aspect of this presentation was to ensure that everyone has in place a systematic file management regime and a robust system of creating and maintaining backups of all your valuable images. Judging by the response on the night, there are many members who are not across this all important part of managing their images. Remember, all hard drives will fail at some point, so be prepared - you have been warned.
