For over 50 years Lane Cove Creative Photography has been bringing photographers together to share our passion.

What sets us apart from other groups:

  • No Competitions! - In a mutually supportive environment our members share techniques and ideas freely.

  • Instruction and training skills are in house to support new members and to help improve everyone’s skillset. It doesn’t matter if you are a new photographer or a long term enthusiast, we have something for everyone.

  • We have regular outings and opportunities to meet with your fellow members to share ideas and create great photographs.

  • We emphasise personal creativity with a range of evaluations and challenges throughout the year

  • We foster creativity in photography with presentations by skilled professionals and gifted amateurs

Lane Cove Creative Photography is affiliated with the Federation of Camera Clubs along with other NSW photographic clubs involving over a thousand photographers.

Anything goes

The type of equipment used by members is irrelevant, so long as they have an interest in photography. Pinhole cameras, smartphone cameras, point & shoot cameras, DSLR cameras, and any camera we may have forgotten to mention are all perfectly acceptable. There is no preference towards digital or film media.

Everyone's welcome

Membership is open to anyone who wants to share and enjoy their interest in photography. We meet formally every 2nd Thursday, commencing at 8pm. Please check our program page for actual dates. Annual membership is currently $70 and runs from January to December. If you want to develop your photographic skills, this is the place to be!

Excursions

There is no better way to improve your photography skills than to get out there with your camera in the company of other enthusiasts. We have two main photoshoots. Most Wednesdays there are simple photoshoots for a couple of hours followed by a cafe lunch. These are varied including, but not limited to; street photography in the City, wildlife at Bicentennial Park, sunsets, sunrises, reflections, long exposure shots etc or just a good excuse to get to know your camera in a social atmosphere and what it can do before that “big trip.”

There are also longer photoshoots, a bit more elaborate, usually but not always at weekends. Recent ones have been the 18 footer skiff world championships, HARS museum and airfield at Albion Park, a tour of Momento photobooks and Somersby Falls. For 2024 there are plans for an educational techniques photoshoot, some sporting events and probably nature or landscape excursions. Become a member today and be a part of our growing community and share your passion through our private facebook group.
