Challenge #4: Creative Use Of Lighting

Last night we had our 4th Challenge night of the year, this time on the Creative Use of Lighting.  The night was very ably facilitated by our own Diane McKenzie who did an excellent job of leading the discussion on each photo with thoughtful and incisive comments.  While the number of photos presented was a little down on previous occasions, the quality was exceptionally good in all areas.

Our next night is a detailed discussion and presentation on Plug-in software and Photoshop alternatives.  It is a given that no single piece of software does everything well, so there is a need for various additional software that works with established programs like Lightroom and Photoshop.  Add in the contentious issue of subscription models and extra charges for AI tools and the market is rife with alternatives.  Jim Crew and I have spent a lot of time assessing the main alternatives to Adobe’s products and all will be revealed at our next meeting.

Also, a reminder that we are still looking for someone or multiple people who can take on the Secretarial duties so that David can take a step back from this important role for the club.

Finally, following our presentation on Plug-in software, we have another challenge, this time a mix ’n match challenge using base images provided.  You can make composites, re-edit the RAW files in a new way or do anything that takes your fancy.  We will provide a download link soon to enable everyone to download and experiment with the provided photos.
