Special Guest presentation 16th April: Richard I'Anson

Last Thursday night we were pleased to welcome internationally renowned documentary travel photographer Richard I’Anson to speak to our members about his 40 plus years as a professional photographer. Richard has travelled to a great many countries, but his abiding passion is for the Antarctic, as shown in his lovely, if somewhat weighty book “Way Down South”. It was interesting to hear about Richard’s early days as a stock photographer and the various challenges that face a photographer travelling to extreme locations and climates. We were also pleased to welcome members from Mosman Camera club who helped to build our numbers to possibly the largest audience we have seen since pre Covid times. Several members took advantage of the special discount on Richard’s book if purchased on the night and everyone present enjoyed his comprehensive and well prepared presentation. For more on Richard’s work , books and tours, his website can be found here: https://www.richardianson.com/
