Presentation #7: Architectural Photography, Thursday 24th July

The topic for our latest Essential Skills presentation, at the last meeting, was Architectural Photography. The presentation explored the different aspects of architectural photography including exterior, interior, details, abstraction and montages. Examples of each category were shown. The presentation also included some detail of how to deal with some of the challenges we may face when photographing architectural subjects, including permissions and some types of buildings that cannot be photographed, for example, military installations.

The presentation may be of great assistance when we are preparing our submissions for the Architecture challenge we will be having in a few meeting’s time. A PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation, along with accompanying notes  is now available on  our web site, so you can review presentation or study it if you were unable to attend the presentation.

At our next meeting, on August 7, is challenge night with the topic being long exposure, so start getting your submissions ready. Ian will be moderator for this night, following his excellent presentation on the subject a few meetings ago. Remember Ian’s presentation is on our web site if you would like to review it when preparing your submissions.

Our interclub with Mosman and Northside is fast approaching so if you have any submissions you can upload them to our web site now in the usual manner. To differentiate them from regular submissions, please add the word Moving to the front of your title. We will selecting our panel of photographs at our meeting on September 4.
