Presentation #4: Mastering Flash Photography
At our last meeting we had another of our Essential Skills presentations. This time we discussed the use of flash for lighting our photographs. In the discussion we identified five basic reasons for using flash that go well beyond attaching a flash just because there is not much ambient light. We discussed the various types of flash equipment available and how to best use them. We also considered the various modifiers available to make our use of flash more professional and creative.
A PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation and comprehensive notes are now available on our web site, so you can review presentation or study it is you were unable to attend the presentation.
At our next meeting, on May 15, we will be having a presentation about close up and macro photography, to be presented by Keith Baetz. This promises to be a most comprehensive session that will answer many of the questions you may have about the subject. This session will be followed by our fourth evaluation night for this year, so start getting your submissions ready. I am still looking for a moderator for this night, so if anyone would to take on the task, please let me know.
