Challenge Night 27th April - Capture a JPEG in camera

Last meeting was our no processing challenge which required that photographs be taken straight from the camera and displayed with no work done after capture.

Eleven club members presented photographs that covered a wide range of subjects with many very excellent images. The challenge showed that very worthwhile photographs can be created with modern photographic equipment, without the need to use the likes of Photoshop.

A great deal of discussion about the photographs took place with each photographer describing their motivations for taking each image. Much discussion was about the experiences of making finished photographs in the camera, in contrast to capturing images with the intent of later processing. It would seem that most gained from the experience.

Overall the challenge was interesting and rewarding. It showed that there is more than one way to make photographs. Report by Jim Crew
