Challenge #4: Everyday Abstract

Tonight we held our final challenge for 2022, with the topic: Everyday abstract. As usual our members came up with a series of innovative and intriguing images for discussion. An interesting exchange revolved around the definition of abstract, with the consensus being that to be considered “abstract” the image content should not be easily identifiable, with the emphasis on interpretation and artistic intent. Several of the images presented were outstanding in their creativity and the discussion was lively and invigorating. The accompanying image was by Miriam Wiggers de Vries, titled Domestic Abstract.
