MV Cape Don Outing

A chance to practice what you learnt during Peter Hills and members Monochrome Presentations on this outing to the MV Cape Don.

Built at the Newcastle State Dockyards, N.S.W., and completed in January 1963, MV Cape Don is one of a unique class of ships that was purpose-built to service navigational aids (including manned lighthouses), primarily along the Western Australian coast.

Tours depart from the Coal Loader Tunnel entrance at Waverton. More details will be emailed to members nearer the time.

Invisible by Liz Loh Taylor

Our first outing of 2019 will see us visit an exhibition by Liz Loh Taylor, a remarkable woman whose work presents a documentary of her experiences through remote locations of Africa, Pakistan and Peru. The black and white images are in the Leica store on level 2 in the Queen Victoria Building.

This will be followed by a walk down to Darling Harbour’s Chinese Garden of Friendship, escaping the hustle and bustle of the city to a serene, secluded garden. Full details will be emailed to members prior to the outing.
