Creative Landscapes

My love of photography and my love of nature are very much intertwined so it has been a very natural choice to produce a portfolio of Australian Outback images. The primary challenge for me as a rather left-brained individual was to try to be creative rather than purely objective with the images I photographed and edited.

My original intent was to include images from many parts of Australia but shortly after I initiated this project we were all faced with Covid-19 and the limitations it placed on us all. In March this year the club had an outing to Orange 40 minutes drive north of Canowindra where my wife, Helen, was brought up. Helen and I decided to spend a few days in Canowindra before joining fellow club members in Orange. I decided to limit my choice of images to those taken of the rolling hills between Canowindra and Orange. I now feel that what originally seemed like a constraint has turned into a benefit and that my nine images work well together. The time of day and the weather conditions vary but the landscape with it rolling hills generates a common feeling between all the images.
